Laws and regulations
Massachusetts has state laws and regulations governing tobacco that protect public health. These laws and regulations include those that prohibit smoking in workplaces and forbid the sale of tobacco to minors. Many cities and towns have also enacted local ordinances restricting youth access to tobacco and limiting public exposure to secondhand smoke. While many regulations are enforced locally, statewide provisions are still in effect.
