Michael
"Don't give up giving up cigarettes."
Hometown: Adams
Year quit: 2009
Michael started smoking when he was 22. He tried to quit a few times, but now that he looks back on it, he admits that they were half-hearted attempts. He knew smoking wasn’t good for you but he was one of those guys who thought smoking wouldn’t make him sick. Then he had a stroke, but even then, he didn’t take his doctor seriously. In his own words he was cocky until he looked at his son who had tears streaming down his face. It was then that he realized smoking was hurting someone besides himself. He used medicine for 4 months and no longer has nicotine cravings. Michael is committed to being there for his son.
