Gettin' Real on Reel! - Featuring Tobacco Free Youth

A Youth-Produced Film Shorts Contest


Here's a chance for YOU to show-off the cool and healthy activities that you and your friends are doing instead of using tobacco!

The Youth Action Initiative (YAI), in partnership with WCVB-TV Channel 5, are excited to announce its FIRST ANNUAL FILM-SHORTS CONTEST. We invite all high-school aged youth across Massachusetts to enter your original 30-second film-shorts into our statewide contest. We want to see your unique, tobacco-free messages!

Film shorts must be:
- 30 seconds in length
- Produced for youth by youth
- Produced by high school aged Massachusetts residents.
-
A powerful and positive message about living tobacco-free!
- Produced, edited and turned in by Monday, April 2, 2007.

If you are thinking about entering, send us a quick email or phone call to let us know (see below for contact information). All we need is your name(s) and contact information. Those who notify us before March 1, 2007 and actually submit a film-short will be entered into a raffle to win cool prizes!

The Top 10 Film-Shorts Finalists will:
- Win cool prizes!

Be featured on WCVB Channel 5's E-Campus Homepage (www.thebostonchannel.com/ecampus) and on the new Youth Action Initiative website.
- One Grand Prize Winner will receive a $200 cash prize AND their film-short will be AIRED on WCVB-TV Channel 5!

WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT A FILM-SHORTS FESTIVAL ON SATURDAY, MAY 5, 2007. Details TBA.
