Quitting smoking is worth it. You're worth it.
Success Stories

I'm finally a non-smoker
Tell us your story:
I had to stop. I was coughing all the time and at 41 had a hard time climbing a flight of stairs - I knew I would not be one of the live to 100 smokers so better to stop now before the oxygen and all that!! I used the nicotine inhaler & it was my lifesaver. Smoking was my best friend - there was NO place that I didn't smoke. I took my inhaler everyplace and started walking - I felt like FOrrest Gump - I would walk and walk and walk. My day 3 was the worst imaginable & I SWORE I would never put myself through that again & the only way to keep that promise was to not start smoking again. It is not bad. I truly do not miss it any longer. I watch people light up and instead of gazing at the smoke with wishful eyes I think oh my God - that smoke is going in their body!!!! It's worth the struggle. This web site was my saving grace many nights.
How long have you been a non-smoker?

What prompted you to quit?
I found out I was HIV Positive (from husband who got a bad tattoo) & was reading all about it - realized the hiv would not kill me but smoking would!!

I feel great - I do admit I gained weight in the beginning - but that's long gone now. I am the healthiest I have been in my adult life & people actually think of me as a non smoker now!!!
