Quitting smoking is worth it. You're worth it.
Success Stories

didn't think I could quit!
Tell us your story:
I started smoking 40 years ago, at age 14... my friends and I thought we were really cool!
As the years past, I realized it was not as cool as originally thought and probably harmful to your health, but we all kept smoking.
As friends and family became non-smokers, I began to feel self conscious about my bad habit, and hoped that wherever I might be there would be another smoker.
When friends and family urged me to stop, I became defensive. Smoking was "my only bad habit" and I would quit if and when I was ready.
After my husband passed away and my children left home, my cigarettes became my friends and companions. We spent long, lonely days and nights together.
While undergoing oral surgery, I decided that I was in idiot to subject myself to the pain and expense of bone grafts and tooth implants, and then to sabotage the healing process with cigarette smoke and nicotine.
I had my last cigarette an hour before the oral surgery, 20 days ago. I have had difficult moments and still have some strong urges, but have not given in!
And I am most proud of the fact that I managed to do it "cold turkey" so far !
I feel empowered and liberated, and am proud that I no longer smell like a smoker!
