important quitworks information QuitWorks-CEASE for Pediatric Practices

QuitWorks has been adapted for pediatric practices, with a focus on preventing child exposure to environmental tobacco use from parents or guardians who smoke. The QuitWorks enrollment form accommodates use in pediatric practices, where the smoker is not the patient. In addition, Jonathan Winickoff, MD, Massachusetts General Hospital, under a grant from the National Institutes for Health, has developed a special QuitWorks guide for pediatricians entitled "Clinical Effort Against Secondhand Smoke Exposure", or CEASE. Visit the CEASE website.

In addition, providers funded through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health's Bureau of Substance Abuse Services (BSAS) have been introduced to QuitWorks and training on smoking cessation interventions. Use of QuitWorks is available through the BSAS-funded training contractor for tobacco training and assistance.
